“IN LOVING MEMORY”

A man of humble beginnings, he was always thankful for the opportunities life presented. Ted was more than a real estate professional – he was a mentor, a leader, and a friend to many. His dedication to our industry was evident throughout a distinguished career to which exceeded even his wildest dreams. He was a member of the State and Local Association Realtor Hall of Fame and proudly served as the State President of the North Carolina Association of Realtors. His service on the National Association of Realtors Board of Directors spanned 13 years, during which he also served as National Chairman of Professional Standards. For more than 17 years, he was an appointee to the Interpretations & Procedures group, where he helped shape the Code of Ethics for Realtors in a constantly evolving business environment. 

He found his greatest joy in helping others realize their full potential. Mentoring was his favorite pastime and one of his proudest legacies. 

 A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Ted was proud to have served his country in Vietnam and grateful for the relationships he built during his time in the Corps. 

 A passionate supporter of his beloved Wake Forest Demon Deacons, he was a steadfast fan for more years than he would ever admit.

With the soul of a musician, Teddy was a singer and songwriter who had the privilege of playing alongside many talented artists who enriched his life. 

When asked how he was doing, his trademark reply was always, “Better than I deserve,” a reflection of his spirit and gratitude for life. He enjoyed every day to the fullest and we are the lucky ones to have done business and life alongside him.

He wished to leave everyone with this final thought:

“Every day is a holiday and every meal a banquet. I aspired to live by the golden rule. I sometimes failed (sometimes miserably), but I tried as well as I could. C’mon people now, smile on your brother, everybody get together and try to love one another right now.”
